Treasure partners with Caldera to launch Treasure Chain

In partnership with Treasure, we’re incredibly excited to announce the official launch of the Treasure Ruby Testnet built with Arbitrum Orbit and EigenDA! Through this L2 chain, Treasure will become the decentralized game console and home base for all games within its ecosystem, and will eventually serve as the settlement layer for an ecosystem of app-specific Infinity Chains.

Built with Caldera’s rollup infrastructure platform, Treasure Chain will provide an optimal settlement layer for both gamers and developers through lightning-quick blocktimes, near-instant finality, and sponsored transactions. The chain will utilize MAGIC as the fee-paying token and boast built-in self-custodial accounts with a unique, global identity system to offer streamlined onboarding across games. In practice, playing games on Treasure will be as seamless and fun as playing traditional games in web2.

Leveraging Caldera’s Rich Feature-Set

By leveraging Caldera’s rich set of features, tooling, and broad partnerships, Treasure Chain offers a vibrant, fully equipped on-chain experience for users and developers alike. In addition to high performance, ultra-low fees, and frictionless onboarding, the Treasure Chain enshrines royalty enforcement on all NFT sales through its native Marketplace, while offering a new gaming-centric AMM with universal token compatibility, a granular access control list (ACL) based permission model for contract deployments, complete Arbitrum Stylus compatibility, and a custom native token in MAGIC.

To achieve industry-leading throughput and unprecedented performance, Treasure Chain will utilize EigenDA for data availability, enabling future-proof scalability and cost flexibility for the ecosystem. Further integrations with the EigenLayer ecosystem are planned for Treasure as it expands its offering of community-owned gaming infrastructure and actively validated game services.

Through Caldera’s custom native token feature, users on all games across Treasure Chain will be able to pay for gas directly in MAGIC. Over time, the role of MAGIC will continue to deepen and evolve as Treasure moves towards sequencer decentralization and shared sequencing to provide seamless cross-chain interoperability across all Infinity Chains

Through this joint partnership, Treasure is able to focus on their broader mission: To develop a network of gaming chains that can one day be interoperable across game worlds, blockchains, and ecosystems.

Treasure co-founder, Karel Vuong, stated: “By working with Caldera for L2 developer operations and infrastructure support, Treasure will be able to focus on supporting game builders launching new titles and game-specific L3s sitting atop the Treasure Chain, as well as novel cross-chain infrastructure to support continued scaling of the Treasure platform.”

The Infinity Chain Vision

So what are Infinity Chains anyway?

The emergence of app-specific rollups (supported by platforms like Caldera) has fundamentally altered the blockchain gaming landscape. Games with growing user bases will increasingly look to create their own chains to avoid congestion, optimize performance, and create the perfect foundation for their unique communities. As a result, these games will look to join platforms that connect their products with a larger gaming ecosystem to drive liquidity and distribution to their chain.

That’s where Treasure comes in.

Treasure’s vision is to become the decentralized game console, aiming to provide a platform experience for players and communities across a growing number of disparate chains by cultivating a network of dedicated game-specific rollups, or Infinity Chains, that all settle onto the Treasure L2 chain, with MAGIC acting as the primary fee-paying token across these technology layers.

Ultimately, Treasure enables game developers to make custom design choices while still remaining connected to an infinitely scalable shared platform. The Infinity Chain network will eventually unlock the potential for much more complex interactions between games, empowering gamers to glide through game worlds seamlessly and truly experience the magic of play.
